Linux Terminal Command : System Info

Ctrl + Alt +  T ⇒ Start Terminal

Type this commands to the terminal:

• date ⇒ Show the current date and time.
• cal ⇒ Show this month’s calendar.
• uptime ⇒ Show current uptime.
• w ⇒ Display who is online.
• whoami ⇒ Who you are logged in as.
• finger user ⇒ Display information about user.
• uname -a ⇒ Show kernel information.
• cat /proc/cpuinfo ⇒ CPU information.
• cat /proc/meminfo ⇒ Memory information.
• df -h ⇒ Show disk usag.
• du ⇒ Show directory space usage.
• free ⇒ Show memory and swap usage.
• exit ⇒ Exit terminal.

Linux Keyboard Shortcuts

• Ctrl + Alt +  T⇒ Start Terminal
• Up Arrow ⇒ Show the previous command
• Enter ⇒ Run the command
• Ctrl + A ⇒ Return to the start of the command you’re typing
• Ctrl + C ⇒ Halts the current command, cancel the current operation and/or start with a fresh new line
• Ctrl + D ⇒ Log out of current session, similar to exit
• Ctrl + E ⇒ Go to the end of the command you’re typing
• Ctrl + K ⇒ Cut everything after the cursor to a special clipboard
• Ctrl + L ⇒ Clear the screen
• Ctrl + R ⇒ Allows you to type a part of the command you’re looking for and finds it
• Ctrl + T ⇒ Swap the two characters before the cursor (you can actually use this to transport a character from the left to the right, try it!)
• Ctrl + U ⇒ Cut everything before the cursor to a special clipboard, erases the whole line
• Ctrl + Y ⇒ Paste from the special clipboard that Ctrl + U and Ctrl + K save their data to
• Ctrl + Z ⇒ Stops the current command, resume with fg in the foreground or bg in the background
• Esc + . (a period) ⇒ Insert the last argument of the previous command on the fly, which enables you to edit it before executing the command

Create a bootable USB pendrive :: বুটেবল USB পেনড্রাইভ তৈরি করুন

there are many software to create a bootable USB drive. Such as IsoWorkshop, LinuxLive USB Creator, Rufus, Unetbootin, Universal USB Installer, YUMI & etc. All of this softwares are free. You can use any of this to create a bootable USB drive. But we are going to use Rufus for this purpose because it is very easy to use.

Follow the instructions given below:

(1) Download Rufus from https://rufus.akeo.ie/ this link.

(2) When download is done insert your pendrive & run Rufus. Rufus doesn’t take installation, it just run.

(3) Rufus will automatically detect your pendrive (but make it sure).

(4) Choose your OS(.iso file) file from your PC/CD/DVD.

(5) Before click start backup your previous  data from pendrive.

(6) when it is done close it.

একটি বুটেবল USB ড্রাইভ তৈরি করতে অনেক সফটওয়্যার আছে । যেমন IsoWorkshop, LinuxLive USB Creator, Rufus, UNetbootin, Universal USB Installer, Yumi ও ইত্যাদি । এই সমস্ত সফটওয়্যার বিনামূল্যে online পাওয়া যায় । আপনি একটি বুটেবল USB ড্রাইভ তৈরি করতে এর যেকোনোটি ব্যবহার করতে পারেত । কিন্তু আমরা Rufus ব্যবহার করতে যাচ্ছি কারণ এটা ব্যবহার করা খুবই সহজ ।

নিচে দেওয়া নির্দেশাবলী অনুসরণ করুন:

(১) https://rufus.akeo.ie/ এই লিঙ্ক থেকে Rufus ডাউনলোড করুন ।

(২) ডাউনলোড সম্পন্ন করা হলে আপনার পেনড্রাই indert করুন এবং Rufus run করুন । Rufus শুধু run করতে হবে, ইনস্টলেশন লাগবে না ।

(৩) Rufus স্বয়ংক্রিয়ভাবে আপনার পেনড্রাইভ সনাক্ত (কিন্তু এটা নিশ্চিত হয়ে নিন) করবে ।

(৪) আপনার কঙ্খিত অপারেটিং সিস্টেম আপনার পিসি / সিডি / ডিভিডি থেকে (.iso ফাইল) ফাইল চয়ন করুন ।

(৫) Start ক্লিক করার আগে আপনার পেনড্রাইভ এ থাকা পূর্ববর্তী তথ্য ব্যাকআপ নিয়ে নিন ।

(৬) পুরো প্রক্রিয়া সম্পন্ন করা হলে এটি বন্ধ করে দিন ।

Defragment PC without any extra software step by step :: পিসি Defragment করুন কোন বারতি সফটওয়্যার ছাড়াই

If PC is Defragmented regularly, it gives better performance. It’s not necessary, more than once a month, .

Follow the instructions given bellow:

(1) Go to Start menu.

(2) Select Control Panel.

(3) Select Performance Information and Tools.

(4) Select Advanced tools.

(5) Select Open Disc Defragmentor.

(6) Select Defragment disc.

(7) De-fragmentation  may takes few minutes.

(8) When De-fragmentation is done, close it.

নিয়মিত পিসি Defragment করলে পিসির কাজের  গতি ভাল থাকে । এটি মাসে একবার এর বেশি করার প্রয়োজন নেই ।

Windows7, 8, 8.1 এর জন্য :-

নিচের নির্দেশনা অনুসরণ করুনঃ

(১) Windows + R চাপুন ।

(২) Run এর Pop-up window আসলে এতে “dfrgui.exe” টাইপ করুন ।

(৩) Optimize Drive এর Pop-up window আসবে ।

(.৪) Defragment disc select করুন ।

(৫) De-fragmentation কয়েক মিনিট সময়  নিতে পারে ।

(৬) De-fragmentation শেষ হলে windowটি close করে দিন ।

Activate windows without any software :: উইন্ডোজ Activate করুন কোন সফটওয়্যার ছাড়াই

Follow the instructions given bellow:

1. Go to Start
2. Select Control Panel.
3. Select Administrative Tools.
4. Select Services.
5. Select Shell Hardware Detection.
6. Select Startup type > Disable.
7. Press Apply then OK
8. Close all window and then restart the PC.
9. Done.

নিচের নির্দেশনা অনুসরণ করুনঃ

১) Start মেনুতে যান ।

২) Control Panel select করুন ।

৩) Administrative Tools select করুন ।

৪) Services select করুন ।

৫) Shell Hardware Detection select করুন ।

৬) Startup type > Disable select করুন ।

৭) প্রথমে Apply তারপর OK চাপুন ।

৮)সকল window বন্ধ করে পিসি Restart দিন ।

৯)Done.

close unwanted access in your pc :: আর চুরি হবে না আপনার পিসির ডেটা

আপনার অনুপস্থিতিতে বা উপস্থিতিতে অন্য কেও আপনার পিসিতে Removable Media যেমন-CD,DVD,Pen Drive,Card Reader,Floppy Drive,Tape Drive,WPD Drive,etc. এর মাধ্যমে কোন প্রকার ডেটা দিতে বা নিতে পারবে না । এতে আপনার ডেটা যেমন কেও নিতে পারবে না, তেমনি আপনার পিসিতে Removal media দ্বারা ভাইরাস ছরাবে না ।

নিচে দেওয়া নির্দেশাবলী অনুসরণ করুন:-

(১) Windows + R চাপুন ।

(২) Run এর Pop-up window আসলে এতে “gpedit.msc” টাইপ করুন ।

(৩) Local Group Policy Editor এর Pop-up window আসলে এতে Computer Configuration select করুন ।

(৪) Administrative Templates select করুন ।

(৫) Advanced tools select করুন ।

(৬) System select করুন ।

(৭) Removal Storage Access select করুন ।

(৮) All Removal Storage classes: Deny all access select করুন ।

(৯) Enabled select করুন ।

(১০) এখন প্রথমে Apply তারপর OK চাপুন ।

(১১) এখন সকল window বন্ধ করে পিসি Restart দিন।

এখন আপনার পিসিতে কোন প্রকার Removable Media প্রবেশ করলে তা প্রদর্শন করবে কিন্তু তাতে কোন প্রকার access দেবে না ।

*এটি প্রোগ্রামটি বন্ধ করতে চাইলে ৯ম ধাপে গিয়ে Not Configured আথবা Disable select করুন তারপর Apply এবং OK চাপুন ।

Speed up your PC’s boot time : step by step

## Windows 7 users:

1. Click on Start
2. Type “msconfig” then press Enter
3. Select Startup
4. Uncheck those programs which you don’t need to start with boot-up. (After completing all steps you can run this programs manually, if you want.)
5. Now press Apply then press Ok.
6. A pop-up window will appear, select Restart.
7. Your PC will restart.
8. We are done.

## Windows XP users:

• Step 1 same as Windows7.
• Select Run instead of step 2 .
• Step 3 & 4 same as Windows7.
• Press Apply then Close instead of step 5.
• Step 6 to 8 same as Windows7

## Windows 8 or 8.1 users:

• Right click on taskbar.
• Select Start Task Manager.
• Step 3 to 8 same as Windows7.

Setup PPPOE net connection on linux step by step

1. Turn on the Terminal. (shortcut key Ctrl+Alt+T)
2. Type “sudo pppoeconf”. (use “sudo” for LinuxMint,Ubuntu,etc & “yum” for CentOS)
3. Type your admin user password. You will not see any password while typing it on the terminal. Don’t worry. It’s normal in the terminal.
4. Follow the instractions & select “yes” all the time.
5. When username required type the username which one your ISP (Internet Service Provider) gave you.
6. After typing the username you will be asked for password. This time type the password which one your ISP (Internet Service Provider) gave you. (If you don’t remember your username or password than contact with your ISP.)
7. Network icon on the taskbar may show you network is disconnected or there is no network. Don’t worry about it. For confirmation type “ping –c 10 google.com” on the terminal, If you see data is receiving than your net connection is established. Or you can browse internet on your internet browser.
8. When you done all of this steps close the terminal.
9. Now enjoy your internet.

Setup PPPOE net connection on windows step by step

1. Go to the Start menu.
2. Select Control Panel.
3. If icons are Categorized than select Large icons.
4. Go to Network and Sharing Center.
5. Select Set up new connection or network.
6. Select Connect to the internet and click Next.
7. Select Broadband (PPPoE).
8. Type your username & password (which one your ISP gave you).
9. You can replace Broadband Connection name with your ISP name. (it’s optional)
10. Fill up the check box & radio button as instruction. (it’s optional).
11. Now enjoy your internet.

View your PC details :: আপনার পিসি এর বিবরণ দেখুন

Follow the instructions given below.

1. Go to the Start menu.
2. Select Control Panel.
3. If icons are Categorized than select Large icons.
4. Go to Performance Information and Tools.
5. Select Advanced tools.
6. Select View advanced system details in System Information.
7. Now you will see all details of your PC.
